R200 Diff Ratios

Recommended Posts

I have searched NS for hours and other webs looking for the various ratios available for the R200 diffs.

I am getting conflicting information though.

I would like to compile an "official" list and pin it or make it an article for people to find easier?

What i was hoping for was a complete list of factory or aftermarket ratios even if they werent in silvias/skylines.

For instance i found something about a 5.1 being in the front diff of a nissan 4WD.... but i cant clarify it.

What i know so far is (i think its correct)......

4.900 - C23 Serena SR20DE 4WD Auto

4.636 - C23 Serena SR20DE 4WD Manual, C23 CD20T 4WD

4.375 - R32 RB20DET 4WD, A31 Cerfiro RB20DET 4WD

4.363 - R34 RB25DE 4WD, R34 RB25DE Manual, R34 RB20E, R33 RB25DE 4WD, R33 RB25DET Auto, R33 RB25DE, R32 RB20DET, R32 RB20E,

C35 Laurel RB25DE 4WD Auto, C34 Laurel RB25DE 4WD Auto, C34 Laurel RB25DE Auto, C33 Laurel RB20DE Manual

A31 Cerfiro RB20DET, A31 Cerfiro RB20DE Manual, S13 CA18DET, S13 CA18DE, C23 Serena SR20DE 2WD, C23 Serena CD20T 2WD

4.111 - R34 RB25DET Auto, R33 RB25DET Manual, C35 Laurel RB25DET Auto, C35 Laurel RB20DE Auto, C34 Laurel RB25DET Auto, C34 Laurel RB20DE Auto,

S13 SR20DE (ABS),

4.083 - R34 RB25DE Auto, R33 RB20E, R32 RB20E (ABS), C33 Laurel RB20DE Auto, A31 Cerfiro RB20DE Auto,

S15 SR20DE, S14 SR20DET Manual, S14 SR20DE Manual, S13 SR20DET Manual, S13 SR20DE (ABS), S13 SR20DE

3.916 - S13 SR20DET Auto, S14 SR20DET Auto, S15 SR20DET Auto, A31 Cerfiro RB20E. 5 & 6 bolt

3.692 - S14 SR20DET ADM Manual, S15 SR20DET Manual. 5 & 6 bolt

3.583 - R33 RB25DE Auto, C33 Laurel RB20E Auto

* transmissions as stated, if not listed it means they are available in either Manual or Auto.

If anyone can add to this list, either if its ratio or cars that we can find the diffs in.

Thanks.

You may find these useful.

OMG What book is that out of?

I wish I could read Japanese. That looks so useful. Can anyone translate? Feed it through a Japanese OCR program or something?

There's also a 4.7 from the Xterra (USDM).

I dunno if it's R200 but I know the gear matches up without hassles.

Thank you for some info I have been looking for.

I have two questions. 1, How available are the different ratios? and 2, How much torque can be put through these diffs when used for circuit racing with loads of grip from the tyres

Its funny how sils are nice and easy ratios.

I heard R31's are R200 as well? Anyone have a list of those? They might add to the variety of diff ratios accessible from normal wreckers.

Also, what determines whether the diff is long nose or short nose? Are ABS short nose, and non-abs long nose?

Hey guys looking at upgrading my factory aus delivered manual s14a diff to a 4.11 (or 4.3) ratio diff for better acceleration/drag times when the time comes.Whats my current diff ratio and will any off these suggested diffs basically bolt straight in,for example r33 gtst diff (or r32 gtst for 4.3 ratio) ? New to the site,so help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

Just thought id share finally got to drive my 180 with its new 4.636 diff (alot of work to fit this and get it working within a r200, dont just think its an easy drop in and she'll be right).

4.636 diff

100km in 5th gear = 3000rpm

80km in 5th gear = 2800rpm

I love it for the street.

Did you adjust your speedo?

I'm also really interested in the 4.636 ratio - When you say it took a lot of work to fit, how so? I thought it might just be a case of removing the diff centre's ring gear and the diff's pinion gear and replacing them with the 4.636 ones, what more is involved?

I also find it odd that people are reporting doing 3000rpm at 100km with 4.1, 4.3 and 4.6 diffs (see thread http://nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=486832 ) - could this be due to the gearbox?

Also, how much better is it than your last 4.363 ratio?
